The author puts down some reasons why Uncle Cephas, while accepting and aware of how we live in "one world", is nonetheless a convincced skeptic when it comes to the UN as the possible nucleus of a world government.

Further to your UN comment, the only way that coming to pass could be a positive development, IMO, is if it were to be a brief precursor to the triumphant sounding of a heavenly trumpet.
